An advanced version of traditional accommodative rock charts, now enhanced with red/green contrast to support simultaneous training in near-far accommodative flexibility and binocular suppression awareness. This three-chart set is designed for professional vision therapy programs and includes one distance chart and two near charts (one matching, one non-matching) to accommodate a range of training goals and patient skill levels. Each chart is printed on rigid vinyl for long-term durability and repeated use in clinical or home-based environments, ensuring they hold up to the demands of daily therapy.

Product Overview:

This updated version of the Accommodative Rock Charts integrates red and green visual contrast to enhance standard accommodative therapy with built-in suppression awareness. By combining near-far accommodative training with anti-suppressive cues, this tool supports development of accommodative facility and binocular visual control.

When used with red/green filters (red over the right eye, green over the left), patients will only see the characters corresponding to each eye's filter, adding a compliance and suppression-monitoring component to the activity. Without filters, the activity mirrors traditional rock chart protocols with added contrast for clarity and visual engagement.

Each chart is printed on durable rigid vinyl to withstand repeated use in both clinical and home settings. The material offers a professional finish and is easy to clean, making it ideal for long-term implementation in vision training programs.

Set Includes:

  • Large Distance Chart: Wall-mounted chart for far-point fixation.
  • Near Chart A: Contains an identical letter/number sequence as the distance chart for 1:1 fixation shifts.
  • Near Chart B: Offers a unique, non-matching character matrix to discourage memorization and ensure true accommodative effort.
  • Bernell Red/Green Goggles: ensure maximum cancellation

Near Chart B was developed in response to practitioner feedback to increase task integrity by reducing the likelihood of patients anticipating targets during fixation changes.

Visual Acuity Reference (Approximate):

  • Distance Chart: ~20/80 (large side) and ~20/40 (small side) at 10 feet
  • Near Chart: ~20/140 (large side) and ~20/40 (small side) at 16 inches

These charts are a powerful addition to any accommodative therapy toolkit, supporting foundational skill development, binocular engagement, and compliance in vergence and focusing activities.
